]]> Imagine taking 2 billion two-litre plastic bottles out of landfills each year. Well, it’s happening thanks to a joint venture between ECO Plastics (Lincolnshire UK) and Coca-Cola Enterprises called Continuum Recycling. The reprocessing plant produces 40,000 tonnes of recycled plastic a year which will help Coca-Cola achieve their goal of 25% recycled plastic in all of its plastic packaging . . . Coca-Cola even has a website dedicated to encouraging more recycling of beverage containers.

Scotland is the latest country in the United Kingdom (locations in England and Wales are already participating in this program) to offer a unique recycling program for used absorbent hygiene products. An astounding 95% of the material that is put in will be recovered. Perhaps this idea could catch on in other regions and help alleviate the strain on landfills?

Customers (both B2B and B2C) are demanding greener products and the South American region is no exception . . . so more and more companies are sourcing their materials from recyclables, which has the added benefit of keeping used products (that could take years to biodegrade, if they do at all) out of landfills.
