New Nonwovens for Tissue Regeneration

Tissue regeneration sounds like something from a SciFi movie, doesn’t it? The lead character gets injured and the ship’s doctor runs a device over the wound healing it instantaneously. Well, we’re not quite there yet, but Freudenberg in partnership with BioPharm GmbH has taken the world a step closer with their new nonwoven technology. This technology incorporates GDF-5 (a morphogen that promotes cell proliferation and is a growth protein factor) into nonwovens. Growth protein factors like GDF-5 have been shown to promote or assist the healing process of damaged tissues.
