Sandler Celebrates CEO’s 60th Birthday and Unveils Latest Investment

Birthdays can be a milestone in anyone’s life. Particularly, when you celebrate a new decade of possibilities. Mr. Christian Heinrich Sandler recently celebrated his 60^th year (Happy Birthday!) with a big gala and it sounds like there was a great turnout for the occasion (460+). Another big reason for Mr. Sandler to celebrate was the announcement of two new investments for his company, Sandler AG – their production line and an expansion of their service centre. The guests in attendance were even given a sneak peek at the production line.

Their new lamination technology is expected to decrease CO₂ emissions as well without affecting the quality of their medical drape products. Providencia Opens a New Nonwoven Plant in Brazil

Things are looking up for Providencia . . . they recently jumped 7 spots in the Top 10 Brazilian Multinational rankings and they have a brand, new plant in Brazil to add 20,000 tons of capacity for the medical/hygiene markets. The South American region certainly has been extremely active for the nonwovens industry so far this year . . . could be something to discuss in your upcoming strategic planning session.

Dow Launches Nonwovens Technology Platform for Acrylic Binders

One of the featured speakers at the World of Wipes Conference last week in Chicago detailed Dow’s new low and ultra-low formaldehyde binder technology. These new binders were first introduced in Europe last year and have now hit the North American market. This is good news for North American consumers who are allergic to formaldehyde . . .
