The Filter Media Value Chain Converges at FILTRATION® 2013

Annual event in Chicago, Illinois boasts record number of attendees

CARY, N.C. — November 18, 2013 — INDA’s annual FILTRATION® International Conference & Exposition, held November 12-14, 2013, Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois, drew a record number of attendees who braved the frigid temperatures hitting the Midwest and East Coast to conduct business with exhibitors representing all aspects of the filter media value chain. Also on tap was an outstanding conference program that reflected this year’s FILTRATION theme of “Filtration Protecting Health & Environment”.

Filter media and component suppliers, customers and the entire filtration value chain from around the world met for three days of education and business interactions. FILTRATION is one of the largest and most important filtration industry events in the world, drawing over 1500 attendees from more than 30 countries.

“Filtration is playing an increasingly important role in the world today. Air quality research continues to link airborne contaminants to human health issues, indoors and out. Air and liquid filtration can provide health benefits to those with asthma, allergies or immune-compromised systems,” says Dave Rousse, INDA President. “Here at FILTRATION, attendees from all over the world were able to see the latest in filter media, its technologies and the value it has to create innovative products to address health concerns. INDA was pleased to bring premium conference content and exhibitors together for three days of invaluable interactions.”

One of the highlights of FILTRATION 2013 was the keynote session presented by Dr. John Spengler, Harvard University School of Public Health, entitled “Climate Change, Indoor Environment and Health.” Dr. Spengler outlined the current challenges facing society today with global warming and the amount of time people subsequently spend indoors. Spengler spoke of the tremendous opportunity this presents to the entire filtration industry.

Also at FILTRATION 2013, the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA) conducted the Air Filtration Tutorial for the second year in a row. The tutorial was part of the NAFA Certified Air Filter Specialist (CAFS) program — the first education and certification program designed specifically for air filtration professionals. Dr. Christine Sun, Textile Research Associates, and Dr. Wu Chen, Dow Chemical, led a tailor-made Liquid Tutorial especially for FILTRATION attendees. Both tutorials were well-received and gave attendees information the basics in air and liquid filtration.

Filtration 2014 is scheduled for November 18-20, 2014 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Sandler Celebrates CEO’s 60th Birthday and Unveils Latest Investment

Birthdays can be a milestone in anyone’s life. Particularly, when you celebrate a new decade of possibilities. Mr. Christian Heinrich Sandler recently celebrated his 60^th year (Happy Birthday!) with a big gala and it sounds like there was a great turnout for the occasion (460+). Another big reason for Mr. Sandler to celebrate was the announcement of two new investments for his company, Sandler AG – their production line and an expansion of their service centre. The guests in attendance were even given a sneak peek at the production line.

FILTRATION® 2013 Headed to Chicago

Cary, NC – September 4, 2013 – INDA’s FILTRATION® International Conference and Exposition is returning to Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois, November 12-14, 2013, and promises to be the most important three days on the 2013 calendar for the filtration industry.

Over 130 exhibitors will be on hand to showcase the latest filtration innovations, technologies and end products from around the world. More than 1600 key decision-makers from 30 countries will walk the exposition aisles looking for new materials, roll goods, machinery, new technology and filter media components. FILTRATION 2013 is the largest filtration event in the Americas and for over 20 years has been a must-attend event for anyone in the filtration industry.

US Army Black Hawks Receive New Filtration System

Black Hawks. The name sounds cool, doesn’t it? Especially when associated with the military. It’s critical for these Black Hawk helicopters to run smoothly and efficiently for American troops. Donaldson is the first company to come up with a dry filtration media based on nano-fiber technology. This new media should help protect those Black Hawk engines per the United States’ military request.

3M Introduces New DIY Filtrete Water Filtration Products

West Michigan Company Hopes to Expand Market for Water Filters Through Sales of ‘Carbon Offsets’

Most people are aware that there are parts of the world where water is scarce and clean water even harder to come by. A company out of Michigan is hoping to relieve some of that burden by offering a new program to distribute more of their filters into third world areas where they are needed the most. This filtration product could make a dent in the numbers of lives lost each year due to waterborne illnesses . . . with an added benefit of helping companies become a little more carbon neutral.

Energy Efficient Air Filtration

Moss Hydro Engineers Create Revolutionary Filters
